Israeli Student Shira Perez Tells SAR Her Story

In a single day, Shira Perez found out that her brother Yonatan had been shot and injured in the October 7th Hamas terror attacks—and her other brother Daniel, was “missing in action” and presumably held hostage. Only 10 days later, the family went on to hold Yonatan’s wedding, with Daniel’s status still completely unknown. Shira, an Israeli 10th grader, and daughter of Rabbi Doron Perez, executive chairman of the Mizrachi World Movement, shared with our middle and high school students how the events of October 7th affected her family.
