And…that’s a wrap on Chesed Week at SAR 5786! Every year, in honor of ...Parashat Vayera, we remind our students that, just like Avraham and Sarah, they can make a difference in the world through acts of chesed, and this week, they did just that!
The Chesed Tent (yes, a real tent set up right in the middle of the SAR Atrium!) welcomed students to carry out acts of kindness, reaching out to support both our local community and Israel. Across all grades, students took part in meaningful chesed projects and learned about inspiring organizations. From decorating tzedakah boxes and Chanukah Cozy Cups for seniors to assembling Shabbat bags for community members and boots for chayalim, our students showed up with generosity and heart.
This year’s projects supported: Smiles for the Kids, Tomchei Shabbos of Queens, Chesed 24/7, Riverdale Hatzalah, Pantry Packers, Boots for Israel, The Ellie Ruby Foundation, Otiot Shel Ahava, Jewish Seniors (with the Bronx Jewish Community Council and Riverdale Y), KCI Kosher Food Pantry, Sharsheret, and MSAWI.

SAR Boys Torah Bowl began their road to a repeat championship with a dominant ...4–0 performance at their first meet hosted by Yeshivat Frisch! Led by senior stars Ziv Pauli S. and Daniel H., and powered by sophomores Itiel W. and Pacey R., SAR Sting defeated Ramaz, Frisch, and Kushner to kick off the season strong🏆📖🐝

The Girls Varsity Basketball team brought home the Glouberman Championship in ...LA this past weekend with an unreal buzzer-beater finish! 🏀🔥👏Every player left it all on the court, and today the halls were filled with black and yellow Sting spirit wear as we celebrated our champs! 💪🐝
After months of hard work, essay writing, and early decision applications ...finally submitted, our seniors took a well-deserved breather at the Bronx Zoo, a time to unwind, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. 🐅🐆🦒🐻
