This past Motzaei Shabbat, ELC students and their families came together for a ...fun ELC Family Night. Children and parents enjoyed an evening filled with dancing, crafts, food, and time with friends.
Highlights included besamim bag making, a spirited musical Havdalah led by the ELC ArtSpARks team, an energetic dance and bubble party, and a pizza dinner. The school was buzzing with laughter and ruach. Hakarat hatov to our Parent Association for organizing this meaningful experience for our ELC families.

What does spiritual advocacy look like in ...today’s world? And how do we learn from the voices who stood up before us?
As we look ahead to our Anniversary Dinner on Sunday, February 1, we had the honor of recording a powerful podcast conversation with Rabbi Avi Weiss, reflecting on spiritual advocacy across generations and his tireless dedication to fighting for Natan Sharansky’s release, standing alongside him in one of the most defining struggles for Jewish freedom and human rights.
The conversation connects past courage with today’s challenges, both locally and globally, and reminds us what it truly means to use one’s voice.
Stay tuned and visit SARdinner.org to join us Feb. 1 and support our dinner campaign!

SAR families who were in Israel over winter break, together with alumni and ...former faculty, spent a powerful day in the south, connecting with members of our extended SAR community since October 7.
They visited the Nova site, met with survivor Ron Segev, shared a meal with Tomer and Amit Ades in Sderot, and traveled to Kfar Aza to hear their story firsthand.
The day also included time at Adi Negev, a place now deeply connected to our community and its ongoing work supporting injured soldiers.
Bearing witness matters. These relationships continue to shape who we are as a community.
Grateful to all who show up, listen, and stand alongside the people of the south of Israel. 💙

SAR students are taught that advocacy isn’t reserved for adults, that their ...voices matter, and that choosing Jewish identity means choosing pride and courage.
At SAR’s 57th Anniversary Dinner on February 1st, we will mark the 40th anniversary of Natan Sharansky’s release after 13 years in Soviet prison for the “crime” of living openly as a Jew. His courage, faith, and refusal to surrender his identity embody the meaning of U’Vacharta B’Chaim — Choose Life.
Together we honor not only a defining moment in Jewish history, but a blueprint for our students today: to speak up, lead with moral clarity, and choose Jewish life with purpose.
