Challah, Coffee, and Connection: SAR Academy Welcomes 70 Grandparents

The guest list was grand, and so was the company! On Friday, October 23, SAR Academy welcomed 70 grandparents for its Grandparents’ Talk & Tour, bringing generations together for a morning of school discovery and Shabbat preparation.

Coffee and treats helped set the welcoming tone, but the sweetest part was time together. Grandparents joined their grandchildren to roll and braid challah for Shabbat, sharing a hands-on Jewish tradition and making memories along the way.

Guests also heard from Principal Rabbi Binyamin Krauss before heading off on tours of the Early Learning Center or Academy building led by members of SAR’s administration. It was a chance to step into their grandchildren’s school world and get a closer look at the places where so much learning and growing happens.

With challah taking shape and generations connecting, the morning brought an extra measure of warmth to SAR just in time for Shabbat.
