Learning at SAR
SAR is dedicated to the philosophy that every child possesses a divine spark, has unique worth as an individual, and should be encouraged to achieve according to his or her ability. Students are guided to take risks, to be creative, and to develop their academic skills. We believe learning happens both in and out of the classroom and open our students’ minds to history, literature, math, science, tefillah, gemara, and medinat yisrael – all through the lens of torah. Our learning environment promotes an open thinking, boundless energy, and a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
ELC
At the Early Learning Center (ELC), SAR’s school for children ages 2-6, we create a joyous and loving Jewish environment filled with experiential learning, passionate and nurturing teachers, Hebrew immersion, and STEAM-focused curricula.
Academy
In grades 1-8, we open our students’ minds to history, literature, math, science, tefillah, Medinat Yisrael–all through the lens of Torah. We nurture in our children the understanding that Torah informs who we are in all of our interactions, and how we hold ourselves in the world.

She may have sung her hit "Hurricane"💧, but @golaneden brought ...nothing but sunshine ☀️ to our steps this morning.
Rabbi Elhanan Miller spoke to a group of 11th and 12th graders about how ...studying Arabic in high school and beyond led to his role in intelligence in the IDF, his career as a journalist, and his work as an educator. He inspired our students to pursue meaningful careers that allow them to utilize their talents and passions... and to continue with their language studies. #onlyatthehive

On the Steps at SAR with Special Guest Eden Golan
Eden Golan Visits SAR Academy
🎶🇮🇱What an exciting day! Israeli supertalent and Eurovision star Eden ...Golan just had to see the magic of SAR for herself—and surprised us all with an amazing performance of her anthem "Hurricane" and her recent hit "Older" with our entire school community on both campuses.
Joined by 14 families from Kibbutz Alumim, we filled the Academy building with music, unity, and pride. Eden sang alongside us in Acheinu and Hatikva, witnessing firsthand our students’ deep dedication to Israel—a powerful, unforgettable moment of connection for all.
Eden then sat down with our 7th and 8th graders for an inspiring Q&A, facilitated by Rabbi Krauss. She shared insights into her musical journey, creative process, and courageous Eurovision experience. Rabbi Harcsztark also had the opportunity to ask Eden about her time in the Eurovision competition, how her fellow contestants treated her, and how it felt to return home after such an intense and meaningful experience.
We are so grateful to @golaneden for sharing your amazing energy and story with our students, faculty, staff, and special visitors.
SAR hosted a poetry slam yesterday. Students from Flatbush, Maayanot, Bi ...Cultural and Berman (via Zoom) competed. From SAR, Emunah G won for her form poem, Noah W won best performance, and Jed S was best overall poet. Alumna Ruthie Yudelson, a high school poetry slam legend, was one of our judges and performed some of her work, along with Rabbi Neil Fleischmann.
