The Class of 2026 kicked off their year with an unforgettable Senior ...Slumberton! 💛🖤
From volunteering all across NYC to celebrating Shabbat together in the building, our seniors filled the weekend with Torah, ruach, and school spirit.
The Shabbaton theme, “Smell the Roses”, reminded everyone to slow down and appreciate their final months at SAR. 🌹 #OnlyAtTheHive #SARHighSchool #SeniorSlumberton #ClassOf2026
SAR October 7th Livestream
Two years ago, everything changed.
Two years ago we became a different ...school — one that knows the power of our actions, our tefilot, and our commitment to Am Yisrael and to each other.
Today, we stood together — remembering, reflecting, and celebrating the return of the hostages and the dawn of a new day.
Am Yisrael Chai. 💙🇮🇱
Tov L’hodot L’Hashem.
Today, we gathered on the steps, where we came ...together every day of the 2023–24 school year and many times since, to stand with Israel. We commemorated the second anniversary of October 7th and celebrated the return of the hostages, joined by community members who have bravely served in Tzahal. The building was filled with gratitude and hope, yet tempered by the weight of how we arrived at this moment and by the memory of the fallen.
It was a moment of complex emotions: joy and relief for those returning home, hope for the future, and pain for the families still waiting. Standing together, we sang, prayed and honored both the resilience of our people and our responsibility to remember. Am Yisrael Chai.
October 7th Commemoration & Celebration of Hostages' Return Home
After over 2 years of endless tefillot, we were finally able to welcome home ...the hostages we’ve been waiting for 🎗️. Today was a day of both remembrance and gratitude — honoring the lives lost on October 7th and celebrating the miracle of those who returned home. Rabbanit Schlaff’s words captured the heart of Am Yisrael and expressed what so many of us are feeling 💛🕯️

Riverdale Community October 7th Commemoration Program Replay
Last night, our community gathered at SAR High School for the Riverdale Jewish ...Community Partnership’s Commemoration of October 7. You can watch a recording at bit.ly/Oct7RCP.
Marking two years since the attacks, we came together in remembrance and reflection, hearing powerful testimonies from heroes and survivors who inspired us with their courage, Nadav Rudaeff, whose father, Lior z”l, is still being held in Gaza, Maya Izoutcheev, a survivor of the Nova Festival, and Omri, who fought terrorists on October 7 and in the days that followed, saved countless lives.
We are grateful to the local leaders who continue to stand with us in strength and solidarity: Congressman Ritchie Torres, New York State Senator Gustavo Rivera, New York State Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, and New York City Council Member Eric Dinowitz.
May we see the speedy and safe return of the remaining hostages soon. 🇮🇱 🎗️
