A fun highlight of the year: our Wacky Wax Museum! Our third graders became the... famous figures they researched, dressing in character and standing perfectly still… until visitors “activated” them with a special action. Check out some highlights from this very special event!
Looking back at an incredible Adar at the Hive!!! Purim with @zushamusic and ...our very own @dj_nay_music was a true highlight! 🎭🐝🤩
The members of our CanStruction Club brought creativity to life with an ...incredible SpongeBob SquarePants installation! 🍍CANstruction is a global nonprofit charity that challenges teams to build structures entirely out of canned food, all of which is then donated to local food banks. Our students collected cans from local supermarkets and will be donating them to SAR’s KCI Food Pantry ahead of Pesach. This amazing design used 608 cans to create the artwork. We can’t wait to see what the CanStruction Club builds next!

Throwback to this time last week… THE BEST SCHOOLWIDE SHABBATON! ...🎡🎢🕯️🍞🥳
Our Model UN team competed at JCYMUN (Jewish Canadian Youth Model UN) in ...Montreal, representing a range of countries and debating a wide range of issues. Mazal tov to the entire team and to the 13 students that won awards in their committees!
What does it mean not just to live in a democracy, but to help build and ...sustain it? And what does that responsibility look like for Jews today? 🇺🇸🇮🇱
At our Am V’Ometz Conference, students explored these questions through texts, conversations, and workshops with civic leaders and educators deeply engaged in the democratic process. Throughout the day, students heard from panelists, participated in workshops, and gathered for a schoolwide assembly, learning from leaders who model what it means to be an engaged Jew in a democratic society.
Thank you to our many guest speakers who helped facilitate meaningful conversations with our students and served as powerful role models: Eva Wyner Rosen, Justin C. Brasch, Elie Friedman, Tessa Veksler, Yishai Schwartz, Miriam Rosenbaum, Audi Hecht, Tamara Tweel, Aaron Dorfman, Akiva Shapiro, Charlie Savenor, and our own teachers.
A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Yishai Schwartz (AC ‘04, HS ‘08), who spoke about “From SAR to DOJ: Leadership, Integrity, and Jewish Tradition” in conversation with Dr. Rivka Schwartz.
Each session reflected the unique roles these leaders play in civic life and offered students concrete ways to get involved and become active, responsible citizens in both the American and Jewish spheres.
The message they left with was clear: get involved!

🎭✨Our third graders brought history to life at SAR’s Annual Wacky Wax ...Museum! From founding fathers and inventors to athletes and entertainers, students stepped into character with amazing costumes, props, and performances. Guests read signs, triggered actions, and watched the exhibits come to life. We heard inspiring messages, for example, Audrey Hepburn urged us to “always take action,” and Neil Armstrong reminded us that “one small step can take you to amazing places.” Months of research, writing, and practice made this event unforgettable. Kol hakavod to our third graders for inspiring us all! 🌟
