Power of Words Day

SAR Academy hosted our annual Power of Words Day, a day filled with meaningful reflection, activities, and conversations about the importance of shmirat halashon – guarding our speech. Together, we explored how our spoken and written words have the power to build or break, heal or hurt.
Inspired by Matt Fenster, z”l, an SAR parent whose courageous battle with illness taught us all the value of using words for good, this day challenged us to think carefully about the impact of our words. Matt, who was passionate about avoiding lashon hara, encouraged us to always speak with kindness and integrity, and we continue to honor his memory by carrying this lesson forward.
A special thank you to Dr. Jennifer Fenster for her beautiful and inspiring lessons with our students. Her guidance and presence always makes this day even more meaningful. We are deeply grateful for her role in organizing this impactful event.
Today included meaningful activities like bracelet-making and cross-grade learningwhere students from all grades came together to symbolize their commitment to positive speech and building one another up.
May we continue to be inspired by Matt’s legacy and use our words to bring healing, connection, and kindness to those around us.
